Cinderella's ball

Delvin and Room 9 had a Cinderella's ball this afternoon. Delvin invited Holly and Miss Stanners and they all dressed up. Delvin was Prince Charming and Holly was Cinderella!

Swimming

Swimming starts on Monday. Luckily we have an afternoon slot so the pool will be nice and warm for us. Please remember a towel and togs every day of next week.

We have two children from Royal Oak Intermediate who come in on a Friday afternoon to read to our class. Their names are Ester and Anne. Thank you girls!

Skipping

We have been practicing our skipping a lot this term and we are all improving. We skip with individual skipping ropes as well as long ones for group skipping.

Maxi the monkey

Room 3 has a mascot. He is a yellow monkey called Maxi and he just loooooves bananas. Come in and meet him, and if you like, you could bring him a banana!

Dressing up

To end our Book Week we dressed up as our favourite book character. All of room 3 dressed up. We had Little Red Riding Hood, Belle, Angelina Ballerina, Bumblebee the Transformer, Spiderman, Batman, Pirates, Butterflies, Tinkerbell, Michael Jackson, Old Macdonald, Fairies
and Miss Stanners was Puss in Boots! We called each other our character's name all day instead of our real names. What fun!

Jump rope for Heart

On Friday we had Jump Rope for Heart. All of the juniors skipped together on the courts while listening to some fun music. Annie won a skipping rope for her skipping improvement and everyone participated beautifully!

Orchestra performance

Last week the Rosetta High School Orchestra came all the way from Tasmania to play at our school. They played some great songs on their instruments including 'Fame', and a Billy Joel medley. Room 3 really liked watching the conductor, as well as the big trombone, the guitars, the drums and the flutes. We were a great audience.

Book Week

Week 3 is Book Week. We will be ending book week with a dress up day on Friday. Children can dress up as their favourite book character and we will have a parade in Friday's Junior Assembly. We will also be doing Jump Rope for Heart on Friday afternoon so start practicing your skipping now!

Our Assembly

We hosted the school Assembly yesterday. It was lots of fun. We did a dance called "Put a little love in your heart" and did a play called "The Springtime Rock n Roll".

Happy b day Yannick!

Yannick was 6 years old yesterday. What a super six year old!

Room 3 fish

What a great start to the term for Room 3. We have started our 'Performance' topic and have two new arrivals to our room. We now have 2 fish in a fishtank, one boy and one girl. The boys have named the boy (who is silver), Sam, The girls have named the girl fish (who is gold), Rosella. Each child will have a turn to feed the fish in the morning.

Hello Room 3. I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday. I'm looking forward to seeing you on Monday. Our topic this term will be 'Performance' so we will be doing lots of singing, dancing and drama. What fun!

Trash to fashion parade

On Friday we had a Trash to fashion parade showing off the costumes we had made the previous day. Sylvie, Meliame and Annie from our class were the models. We had four themes - winter, summer, spring and autumn. Can you guess which is each season from the pictures? Thank you to those parents who came and helped out!

Designs for 'Trash to fashion'

We have been making designs with our buddies from Room7 for the 'Trash to Fashion' show.

Print making

We have been making prints by cutting out card into the shape of a house. We glued it together then painted over it with a roller and then pressed it onto a piece of paper. These are the results!

Friday was Daffodil day. Children were able to buy daffodils, daffodil tattoos and even daffodil cupcakes.

In the weekend I took care bear to a farm me and care bear went on a horsee.

Healthy eating with Iron Brian

Iron Brian came to talk to us about the importance of eating meat and healthy eating. He even cooked us a burger each! There was a dance competition at the end too. Thanks to those parents who came to help make burgers.
